I love studying and understanding “human behavior”…
Perhaps you’ve heard of the term “mirroring“?
It’s said that “mirroring” with another person helps one to better “connect” with that person by “imitating verbal or nonverbal behaviors.”
The interesting thing is, many times we “mirror” another person during conversation without even realizing that we’re doing it. We’re doing this because we simply want to connect, to empathize, to understand…
There are healthy things that can come with “mirroring”… but, of course, it can also go into being an unhealthy or even manipulative kind of thing when it goes to an extreme—or perhaps if a persons motives aren’t purely to connect, in attempt to simply relate and understand a person better.
But here is the point...
“And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.”—2 Corinthians 3:18 AMP
What if…
we were to position ourselves
with a heart—with a desire
to “mirror” God?
To “mirror” His Word…
To “mirror” Jesus…
To position ourselves before Him with the intention of closely connecting with Him, connecting with who He is and what is on His heart, that we begin to imitate Him, to reflect His ways, His desires…His heart…
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”—Colossians 3:2
As we fellowship with Him, as we place our affections on Him, as we adore and admire Him, as we love and trust Him…
…we actually begin to “mirror” Him. 💖✨🌅
We actually begin to be(come)… more like Him. 💗
May we learn to position ourselves before Him…
seeking His face
seeking His way
desiring to know His heart…
in such a way…
That we reflect Him.
That we truly “mirror”… Him. 🌅
That we become more like Him.
Him living from within us—A unique, “one-of-a-kind combination.”
Born from a desire, deep within His heart, to bring His glory to the earth. 💝
“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”—Habakkuk 2:14
“Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!“—Colossians 1:27 TPT
“I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this gracious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!“—Philippians 1:6 TPT
“For those whom He foreknew [and loved and chose beforehand], He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son [and ultimately share in His complete sanctification], so that He would be the firstborn [the most beloved and honored] among many believers.”—Romans 8:29 AMP
Thank You, Father. 💝
