Have you ever decided not to do something because you just didn’t think you had it in yourself to do it?
How many times in life have we depended on our own “strengths and abilities” as if they were the things that made us “able” in the first place?
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”—2 Corinthians 9:8
But if we are willing…
Willing to be “weak.”
Willing to be uncomfortable.
Willing to be “inconvenienced.”
Willing to let go of our reputations…
God has promised to give us ALL that we need
to be ABLE to do
the task at hand…the task that He has placed before us…
…and with amazing grace.
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”—2 Corinthians 12:9
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us…”—Ephesians 3:20
“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.”—John 5:30
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”—Philippians 4:13
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”—John 15:5
“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”—James 4:6
How else are we going to learn to LIVE and EXPERIENCE this truth, if we are not willing to face our areas of “weakness” and depend on HIS abundance and ability?
God is reminding me this morning… that He wants us to experience HIS strength in the face of our weaknesses. He wants us to marvel at the miracles He desires to do, through US…and that means we must take a “risk”… and be willing to step into the beautiful opportunity at hand.✨
He wants to surprise us, with what He can do, through US. 💪
Father, help us to see these things as You see them, help us not to worry so much over our own weaknesses, help us not to just decide that we “cannot” because of the weakness we find inside… but help us to instead… remember that You give us the ability and the grace to do whatever You have placed before us to do. And that is precisely when we must “take the step” and “do the thing”…that we know we cannot do in our own ability. How we need You, God! And that is as it should be. 🙌☀️
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”—Romans 15:13
Thank You, Father. 💝
