May we remain Highly Sensitive— to the Cross of Christ…

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring you to God, after being put to death in the fleshly realm but made alive in the spiritual realm.“—1 Peter 3:18

This morning the Lord took me into the Gospel of John.

And I found myself picturing…

as I read the words of the scriptures

seeing, imagining

…what it might have been like for Jesus in those moments on the cross.

The Lord took me into the scriptures,

and as I’m soaking in the words,

looking into what Jesus did—what He went through…

I felt my heart “break” again—it burned…as I felt this overwhelming “weight” of what Jesus endured for me.

“…But the LORD has caused the wrongdoing of us all to fall on Him.”—Isaiah 53:6

And I found myself just talking with Jesus, pondering with Him…

“Jesus… oh what You must have gone through. What You must have felt…and You did that for ME…”

You know, I don’t know how else to say this,

but it can be easy to become “desensitized” to the Cross.

We’ve read the story over and over,

and perhaps at times, we lose sight, we don’t feel the weight—the immensity

of what He endured

what He suffered

what He accomplished

….what He completed

for “me“…

“Therefore, I will divide and give Him a portion with the great [kings and rulers], And He shall divide the spoils with the mighty, Because He [willingly] poured out His life to death, And was counted among the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore and took away the sin of many, And interceded [with the Father] for the transgressors.”—Isaiah 53:12

“With that, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, but he vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us?” — Luke 24:31-32

Oh Father, will You burn this truth into our hearts

flowing into our bones—like a fire… 🔥

Let it sink in…

That we may feel

that we may see

that we may know

the immensity

of what Jesus has done for us.

And if our hearts need “breaking”… will You break us.

Make us tenderhearted.

Refresh us, renew us, remind us…

May we remain highly sensitive

to the Cross of Christ.

“But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. We all like sheep have gone astray, each one has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid upon Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth.…”—Isaiah 53:5-7

Thank You, Father. 💝
