Spiritual Nourishment

“O God, how extravagant is your cherishing love!
All mankind can find a hiding place
under the shadow of your wings.
All may drink of the anointing from the abundance of your house.
All may drink their fill from the rivers of Eden.
The fountain of life flows from you to satisfy me.
In your light of holiness we receive the light of revelation.
“—Psalm 36:7-9 TPT

Now I’m reaching out to you, thirsting for you
like the dry, cracked ground thirsts for rain.
“—Psalm 143:6 TPT

Drink deeply of the pleasures of this God.
Experience for yourself the joyous mercies he gives
to all who turn to hide themselves in him.

Worship in awe and wonder, all you who’ve been made holy!
For all who fear him will feast with plenty.
10 Even the strong and the wealthy grow weak and hungry,
but those who passionately pursue the Lord
will never lack any good thing.
“—Psalm 34:8-10 TPT

I long to drink of you, O God,
to drink deeply from the streams of pleasure
    flowing from your presence.

My longings overwhelm me for more of you!
My soul thirsts, pants, and longs for the living God.
I want to come and see the face of God.”—Psalm 42:1-2 TPT

The Lord first put two words on my heart this morning…

Receive

and

Absorb

To “receive” means…

“be given, presented with, paid…”

“eat or drink, to get or accept, take delivery of”

The word “absorb” means to…

“take in, soak up, drink in, digest, ingest, imbibe, sponge”

Like “plant roots absorb water.”

To receive and to absorb what God has given us 🌱💦☀️ = spiritual nourishment. 🌳🍏

Taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8 NIV)

He knows exactly what we need to be able to flourish and thrive. 💝

“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis.“—Matthew 11:28 TPT

Come, all you who are thirsty,
    come to the waters;

and you who have no money,
    come, buy and eat!

Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
    listen, that you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
my faithful love promised to David.”—Isaiah 55:1-3

Jesus replied to them, “I am the Bread of Life. The one who comes to Me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in Me [as Savior] will never be thirsty [for that one will be sustained spiritually].“—John 6:35 AMP

Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became a joy to me and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.”—Jeremiah 15:16 AMP

For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes…”—Jeremiah 17:8 AMP

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.”—Romans 15:13

Thank You, Father. 💝 How You know what we need. How You draw us, and You nurture us, and You deeply nourish us so that we can flourish and thrive with You, as You’ve created us to. 🌱☀️💦

…and our “roots reach deep into the water.” 🌳⛲️
