7.16.2021 – He Unfolds His Plans

Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”—Matthew 13:32

Often times the “seed” that God is planting

is meant to flourish in its fullness

—to “unfold”

—to be “revealed”

in another season, in another time.

Sometimes the thing that God is doing

is meant for, intended for, designed for

another time, another day.

we may not see it.

we may not understand it.

we most likely will not comprehend it.

But His ways are higher than our ways.

His plans are better than our plans.

And He likes to plant and prepare the small,

to grow into something extraordinary

…quite out of the ordinary. 🌻

What He has planted will unfold one day…

in His way,

…and in His perfect time.

“It is only a tiny rosebud,

This flower of God’s design;

But I cannot unfold its petals

With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers

Is not known to such as I.

This flower God opens so sweetly,

Would in my hands fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,

This flower of God’s design,

How can I think I have wisdom

To unfold this life of mine?

So I’ll trust in Him for His leading

Each moment of every day.

I will look to Him for His guidance

Each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,

I’ll trust Him to unfold the moments,

Just as He unfolds the rose.”
