At times…

I seem to find myself in a state of overwhelm.

And all the things start “swirling” around me,

cluttering up my mind…

These waves of overwhelm that attempt to paralyze…

to overtake…

…attempting to fill my mind

with anxiety,

shutting down

my creativity…

So God, I take this ALL to You…

…this overwhelming,

growing mountain

that stands before me.

A mountain that I do not like to face.

But I know that my perspective will shift…

that my mind will be renewed

by Your truth

and my eyes will be refreshed

as I look to You

and then I look again…

I can see,

I am reminded…

that I’m facing this mountain of overwhelm, alongside You.

Layer upon layer,

situation upon situation

You always see me through.

And, Father…

in this life,

I am on the journey

of learning…

and learning

and learning…

that I can ALWAYS

trust You.

“You keep him in perfect peace

whose mind is stayed on you,

because he trusts in you.

 Trust in the Lord forever,

for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”—Isaiah 26:3-4

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”—Psalm 91:1-2
