8.20.2021 – Hidden by the Brook of Cherith

Go away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.”—1 Kings 17:3

Have you ever found yourself in a season that feels like you’re “hidden away“…

Perhaps you’ve wondered if you’ve done something wrong, or if God or others are displeased with you…

Maybe you’ve even gone a little further and wondered if something is wrong with you.

“Things are different, things have changed…I sense that something has ‘closed’, God….why am I in this place? What are You doing?”

You were RUNNING with God, and you have suddenly found yourself in what feels like a “hidden place.”

I have always been honest on this blog…

…so here it is…

I’ve been seeking God about some things in my life.

I’ve had some concerns on my heart, I’ve had some questions on my heart.

“God, what are You doing? I don’t understand this place I’ve found myself in. Where are You taking me? What do You desire for my life? What are You wanting to teach me IN THIS place? What are You wanting to DO in me here?”

And I am learning

that God doesn’t bring us to this place to “put us in time out“…

He draws us into this place to refresh us, and to refill us, and to remind us of what we need reminding of.

And you are to drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”—1 Kings 17:3

God brings us to this place, to position us, and to prepare us for the thing He has prepared for us.

He is teaching me how to find rest in this place—to cease fretting or wrestling

It’s a new area of trust in God—in His way, and not “mine.”

Do you know that we can trust Him wherever we are, in whatever situation or circumstance we find ourselves in.

He is always trustworthy, and He is always good.

And there is always a lesson waiting for us, in whatever season we are in.

It’s not some kind of “angry punishment”—even though we may experience some pain and discomfort in these kinds of seasons.

As a Father, God takes us through these lessons to protect us,

to prepare us,

and to position us,

His lessons come from a Heart

that wants to prune,

and to prepare,

and to purify

Because He desires to prosper, and promote His children.

Because He LOVES His children.

Seasons by the “brook of Cherith” are only for a time, and for a specific purpose.

So, don’t worry, or fret over, or complain about where God has placed you in this season.

Just draw nearer to Him,

and ask Him

to help you grasp the lessons He has for you. 💖☀️

Thank You, Father. 💝 I trust You, and I know that You know what’s necessary and what’s best.
