As I was sitting here this morning, asking God what is on His heart for today…
I was surprised by a phrase that I heard…
“He longs for us…”
And as I thought about this phrase, I became overwhelmed at this realization, this deeper revelation—it’s like it broke my heart in the most beautiful way.
This is the scripture He led me to…
“So the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.”—Isaiah 30:18 NLT
“Therefore the LORD waits [expectantly] and longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed (happy, fortunate) are all those who long for Him [since He will never fail them].”—Isaiah 30:18 AMP
Here’s the passage in the Passion Translation…
God’s Promise to His People
18 “For this reason the Lord is still waiting to show his favor to you
so he can show you his marvelous love.
He waits to be gracious to you.
He sits on his throne ready to show mercy to you.
For Yahweh is the Lord of justice,
faithful to keep his promises.
Overwhelmed with bliss are all
who will entwine their hearts in him,
waiting for him to help them.”
Do you see that?
He LONGS to show us His love and compassion.
He waits for us to come to Him,
to experience who He is,
to have relationship with Him.
He “waits on high to have compassion on you.”
This is His heart!
And in 2 Peter 3:9 it says that He is,
“patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.”
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth…”—Psalm 46:10,11
He longs for us to choose Him, to turn our hearts toward Him.
And He waits so patiently…
“Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people].”—James 4:8
“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”—Zephaniah 3:17
To “taste and see that He is good”…
“Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”—Psalm 34:8
“For day after day they seek Me and delight to know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not forsake the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”—Isaiah 58:2
Do you know Him?
Do you know…
that He is not only waiting for you,
but He is calling after you, by name?
“But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”—Genesis 3:9
“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—”—Romans 5:12
“…your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.”—Isaiah 59:2
But He loves us, and He CHOSE us, and so He made a way for us….
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”—John 3:16
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.“—1 Peter 2:9
“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”—John 12:32
He’s calling you, and He’s drawing you. 💖
He wants you to see that He is kind.
Choose Him, follow Him…
…and watch Him redeem your life,
in ways you never dreamed possible. ✨
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”—Romans 8:28
Thank You, Father. 💝
