I had a deeper realization this morning…
Do you ever have those?
Things you already know…
…but there is still more to know, more depth of understanding,
more “sinking in.”
Perhaps it’s more like a conviction…
This morning, it hit me again,
that most of the world is going through
something
in this time.
Most people,
—every individual
is in some way,
shape,
or form…
most likely
facing something that’s hard,
or scary
—an overwhelming challenge,
a hard decision,
a “mountain”
a tremendous loss,
the unknown…
And I thought,
“How would we treat one another if we saw one another through this lens (perspective)?”
Through a lens of compassion,
through a lens that sees through the outer shell—through and into…
A lens of,
“…this person might actually not ‘be okay‘ today.”
Might we be less offended?
Might we be less condescending?
We are living in a day
where the opportunity is there
for us to learn to “handle each other with care.”
That we might learn,
that we might grow in capacity…
to love the “unlovable”
to “crack the outer shell.”
To “dig into an ancient well”…
And to make it so much less about ourselves.
Father, help us to see one another in the way that You see.
Teach us to love with Your tender loving-kindness…
God, You are teaching us and empowering us,
to speak (and walk) truth in love,
and to love the “unlovable” well.
“This is what the Lord Almighty said: “Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.”—Zechariah 7:9 (NIV)
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Administer true justice. Show loving devotion and compassion to one another. (Berean Study Bible Version)
“Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew loving-kindness and mercies one to another,” (Darby)
Thank You, Father. 💝
