11.2.2021 – His Word is a Glimpse into His Heart

God gives us glimpses into His heart as we dig into His Word…

Is that not mind-blowing? ✨

And I am so thankful

…for the way He draws us,

and then He gives us a deeper understanding of who He is, and the way He sees us (and the situations we face)….as we dig into His Word.

Within Jeremiah 29, we see a promise and a reminder to the Jewish exiles as they faced the harsh reality of living in captivity.

It was a promise of God, intended for them to cling to, and to walk out, with Him… as they endured living through some extremely harsh and uncertain times.

“The exiled Jews lived in the experience of God’s judgment upon their nation. It was easy for them to think that God was against them; that He intended evil for them. Through Jeremiah, God assured them that His thoughts toward them were of peace, and that in His heart and mind He had a future and a hope for them.” (Enduring Word)

It’s a certainly a passage that we can meditate on to better understand the heart of God as we face harsh circumstances within our own lives—His Word is a glimpse into His heart, His nature, and His way.

We so often need to be reminded of His heart, especially while enduring through hard things that we do not understand; the places that we can sometimes have a hard time “seeing any kind of good outcome.”

And Jeremiah 29:11 is a beloved scripture, and indeed, a treasure…

…but there is something about verse 13 that really stands out to me…

It kind of feels like discovering a “key” of instruction that we can also apply within any circumstance we could ever face.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heartI will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.”—Jeremiah 29:13-14

And here it is…

No matter what kind of situation you are facing right now,

no matter what kind of mess you’ve found yourself in—whether it’s from your own mistakes or from consequences of the actions of others

You can know

that when you seek God, wholeheartedly…. you WILL find Him! ☀️

He will be found by you!

This is His heart!

He will deliver you, in His way, and in His perfect timing, within His plan.

Even when we don’t understand “why” He allows certain things to happen in our lives,

even when we don’t understand why He doesn’t always “stop” certain things from happening…

we can trust Him,

we can trust HIS plans,

and we can remember and know that He is good,

and He is God Almighty!

So look to Him, from wherever you are

Set your gaze upon Him, set your heart upon Him,

and He will be found by you.

It’s His heart to be “found” by you. 💝

And guess what? He’s already calling and drawing you closer.

He sees your heart. He knows your heart.

He loves your heart, Child of God.

He redeems and restores

He heals the brokenhearted, He releases the captive from captivity!

This is His heart. 💝

Dare to trust Him with your heart—Jesus is worth every “risk”.

He is trustworthy.

Everything that God does,

everything that He allows,

everything that He reveals to us

is meant to draw us into a closer, deeper relationship with Him.

And relationship with Him is more valuable than we can comprehend.

You can turn to Him from wherever you are right now.

He loves you, He will meet you, and He will be with you.

He is setting you free, He is seeing you through.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you.”—Deuteronomy 31:6

Thank You, Father, for giving us a glimpse into Your heart through Your Word. It just amazes me… that You care to be known by us. You desire for us to know Your heart. To know, just how wonderful You truly are! No matter what we’re facing, we can know that You’re going be with us, and You are going to see us through.
