11.12.2021 – (Not-so) Surprising Assignments

Many times, the things that we’re created to do—to put our hands to

…are things we’d never expect or imagine.

Would I have ever dreamed that I would one day become a photographer?

A small-business owner?

Certainly not!

There was a time in my life…

when I was too socially anxious to sit face to face with a friend over coffee.

I never knew when the words wouldn’t come.

I never knew when my face might burst into embarrassing splotches of red.

I never knew when or if my hands might start dripping with sweat.

“…so how am I going to be able to have coffee… with a client?”

When God was “giving the green light” to jump into this full-time,

I presented Him with questions like,

“God, how can I possibly run, or even take part in a business if I face a challenge like this??”

God will often present us with challenges that we really don’t want to face.

But I’m thankful that God sees beyond what we can see. 💖

I’m thankful that He leads us into opportunities

that we could never imagine seeing ourselves able to do!

Challenges, that we never would have expected to be able to face and overcome!

These challenges that I faced (and still face) didn’t just disappear

Yes, I still face these challenges at times—sometimes rather unexpectedly these days, catching me off guard.

But I am learning, by the help of the Holy Spirit, to catch myself

and to recognize

when I want to run, or escape, or hide.

Because I don’t want to miss out on something God wants to do in my life.

And I’m thankful that He’s leading me,

He’s got my back, even when I think I’ve messed it all up with my shortcomings and mistakes.

And now, I have a whole new set of challenges that I am facing in my life right now. 😊 ✨

Brand new, and unexpected opportunities and challenges arise every day.

And guess what?

Yet again, I find myself in places where I am putting my hands to things that I never, ever would have expected.

But just like before,

God is walking me through—step by step,

confirmation by confirmation,

“yes by yes”…

morning by morning,

day by day…

And just like before,

I am seeing myself doing things,

that I never would have thought I could do,

nor would I have thought I would have wanted to! 😆

So thank You, Lord,

for leading me into places

that I thought I would never have been able to venture into.

Oh, but God, You knew… 💝☀️

You knew what You created me to do.

You are the “Way Maker”,

and sometimes You bring me to steps in the journey, that I never would have dreamed I would be taking…

…but You have good reason for Your way.

And You have purpose,

for every weakness that I so painfully face.

And I know, that You have good reason,

for every unexpected “ability” that You give me.

How You surprise me!

And how You surprise me with JOY!

Lord God, if You can do it then, then You can do it now.

And if You can do it now, then You can do it again.

My God, my hope is in You. 🏃🏻‍♀️☀️

You ALWAYS give me ALL that I need, to do what You have called me to do. 🙌

These assignments may surprise me sometimes, but they never are a surprise to You!

“But Moses said before the Lord, ‘Behold, I am unskilled in speech; how then will Pharaoh listen to me?'”—Exodus 6:30

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”—Philippians 4:13

Thank You, Father. 💝
